New York – Upstate

New York was a big turning point in our trip for multiple reasons.  It marked the change in route from North to East!  With NY being such a big state, we seemed to be there forever!

We started off on the west side of NY at Westfield / Lake Erie KOA.  Good location for a couple of days.  We had so much fun with the onsite vineyard and cute stream that ran alongside of it.   We also had a great lunch right off the shore of Lake Erie!  We were here just long enough to prep for our border crossing into Canada!

We crossed the border into Canada because we wanted to see Niagara Falls in all of its glory! And man was it pretty! We stayed at Jellystone Niagara Camp Resort and it was average.  It was really expensive for the relatively run-down park.  The kids liked it, it had everything we needed, but wouldn’t recommend if your looking.  The falls were AMAZING.

After Niagara, we drove back into NY and stayed close to ensure we got through the border without any problems and reduce any added stress.  We found the awesome state park, Lakeside Beach State Park.  Really pretty, heavily treed, right up against the water of Lake Ontario and was a good price.

We then continued east and stayed at Brennan Beach RV Resort.  This place was terrible.  No service, no wifi, all amenities were lower than average, about 1500 RV site and most of them long-term trailers, thousands of zooming golf cards, and the town it was close to had nothing to be excited about either.  I won’t go on, but in short, we left as soon as we could find the next place to go.

Lake George RV Park. Wow.  This place was the exact opposite. They had everything.  I am not sure why we didn’t capture much footage there, I remember being very busy with catch up on how normal people live with shopping.  5-star rating for Lake George RV Park.

We stayed close to Lake George and moved north to Lake George Schroon Valley Resort. RV site was not great.  The park was cute, but a bit older. It was in the mountains so the service was shotty. We got some fun shots with the drone and it was close to some fun events like RevRail!

Ok, next state is Vermont!
