A (relatively) quick flight to New York landed us with hungry kids and cramped legs. Being stuck in the back of the plane was a bit of a nightmare, but we were able to manage as it was the shorter of the two legs of our trip.
The baby was awake the entire time up until the last fifteen minutes as the plane was landing, and the two boys were constantly at arms about who got to look out the window (and be in that seat!). Kinsler felt that he deserved a chair as the rest of us had one, but then found himself crawling over each of us and having fun dancing in the aisle.
On we went to baggage claim at La Guardia Airport, where we had another nice gentleman with a large baggage cart helping us to collect all of our pieces. He asked, “6-8 bags?” and I quickly responded with.”No, it’s more like 14-16.” At first his face showed shock and then a smile.
It was nice at the claim, as all of our pieces came out in small groupings of 3-4 bags at a time. This made for an easy load of all of our bags! The next trick was getting all of those bags to the stretch limo that we had reserved.
After waiting a few minutes and being “those” people at the airport with so many bags, we found the limo. The nice gentleman helping us with the bags and the driver were quick to get everything loaded, this time not in Tetris form. It was more of, “get the bags in and let’s go!” The driver even mentioned that we broke his record of the most bags- yay.
We were finally able to catch our breaths on our hour trip to Huntington, NY to spend some downtime with Grammie at 33.
