Day One: Magic Kingdom
We took an early flight out Thursday morning to head to the world of Mickey! We surprised Kieghan just the day before with everything he might need for the trip, and of course, all decorated in Mickey Mouse.
It was my and Kieghan’s first time to enter this magical world, and boy, were we so excited to get this amazing opportunity!
The flight was a quick trip to Florida, and what made it even better was Big Hero 6 playing on the way there- one of Kieghan’s favorite movies. The anticipation couldn’t have been built any more than it was, with each short segment from point to point making it that much more exciting.
First stop: Magic Kingdom
We decided to take the ferry over to Magic Kingdom. Andy thought that that was the best way to go for a first time there. It was cold and a little rainy, but the weather was not the focus of the day. As we neared the park, the first glimpse of Cinderella’s Castle from afar made our trip a reality, we were really here. Amazing! I was so anxious to get off the ferry and begin our day at The Happiest Place on Earth.
From Frontierland to Tomorrowland. From Adventureland to Fantasyland. There was so much to do! Where would we go first? What would we ride first?
With Fast Passes reserved on our Magic Mickey bands (Magic Bands), we headed over to Splash Mountain first. It was a great way to begin a wonderful day! Space Mountain and It’s a Small World were also on our list, in addition to just about everything else. With 10-20 minute wait times on pretty much every ride in the park, we were able to knock out quite a bit in the 11 hours we were there.
Our fantastic first day at Disney ended with a Celebrate the Magic picture show on the castle and the Wishes Fireworks Spectacular.
It was simply magical!
I never knew what would happen the moment I entered the Walt Disney Resort- how I would feel, what I would do, what I would see. For such a long time, it had only been a dream. However, at Disney, dreams really do come true!
Next Stop…Animal Kingdom!
